The Vocational Service Committee met following the regular Rotary meeting on Monday, March 1st. As I have noted in previous reports the Committee is currently working on three projects and we have the following progress report to offer this month.

1. YETE - Plans for a second YETE Program are moving forward. There is nothing for Rotarians to do at this point other than continue to stay in touch with the leaders and their plans. Rotarians will have a more active role both as possible mentors for class sessions and employers of those students who successfully complete the classes.

2. ROTERACT - We will shortly begin to invite one or two Colby students to attend regular Monday meetings of Rotary so they can see a club in action and understand more about what Rotary does and what Rotarians stand for. This will better enable them, with us, to define projects in which they will become involved. Watch for these students later this month.

3. ROTARY BANNER - Doug Carnrick reports slow but steady progress on the design process for a new Rotary banner. Some specific design components have been suggested and the next phase will be for Doug to contact the firms that produce banners for Rotary clubs to learn about pricing and how design specifications are submitted. No final decision has been made about whether to use a local production firm or one of those recommended by Rotary.

4. GSE - The Vocational Service Committee will be working with Sarah Sugden, Peter Garrett and others helping to refine the program for the visitors who will come to Waterville in May.
