Eloise Vitelli is Director of Program and Policy for New Ventures Maine (Formerly Women, Work, and Community) a statewide organization whose mission is to help Maine people achieve success in the Maine economy. In 1984, Eloise designed New VenturesTM, an entrepreneurship training program and was instrumental in establishing the Maine Enterprise Option program that allowed qualified unemployment insurance recipients to start small businesses while receiving UI, and the Family Development Account matched savings program. Eloise holds a MS from the University of Southern Maine and a BA from the University of Pittsburgh. She was elected to the state Senate in a special election, August 2013, and again in 2016. She represents Senate District 23 which is all of Sagadahoc County and Dresden in Lincoln County. She lives in Arrowsic with her husband, Bob Kalish and is the mother of two grown sons.
